Do I need fishing experience?
No. You fish with rods, all the tackle is provided, and the boatmen show you the technique on board. The trip is rated easy.
Is fishing equipment included?
Yes. Included: hotel pickup and drop-off on Koh Lanta Yai; fishing tackle and bait; mask, snorkel and fins; lunch, fruit and drinking water; guide and boatman; insurance. Not included: national park fees where applicable; towels; alcohol.
How much does the Koh Lanta fishing trip cost?
Joining is THB 2,500 per person, a private half day is THB 5,500 for the boat, a private full day is THB 7,000, for up to 4 guests. National park fees are extra where a stop is inside the park — THB 400 adult and THB 200 child, paid in cash on the day.
Can children come?
Yes. Life jackets are on board and the day is rated easy. Tell us the ages before you book — for a family, the private half day keeps the boat to your group and the pace to yours.
Can people who don’t fish come along?
Yes. The day includes two snorkel stops and lunch on the beach as well as the fishing, so anyone who would rather swim than hold a line still has a full day out.

Yes — two snorkel stops, with mask, snorkel and fins provided.
What fish might we catch?
Snapper, grouper, trevally and barracuda all turn up, and guests have landed king mackerel and tuna. Fishing is fishing. Conditions, seasons and catches change daily, and no specific catch can ever be guaranteed.
Can I keep what I catch?
If you catch something worth eating, we grill it for you on the beach with lunch. If nothing bites, lunch is still on — that part is not left to chance.
Can we book the whole boat?
Yes. The private half day is THB 5,500 and the private full day is THB 7,000, per boat rather than per person, for 1–4 guests.
What times does the trip run?
There are three slots: 08:00–12:30, 12:00–15:00 or 08:00–15:00. Back at your hotel after your chosen slot.
Where does the trip leave from?
We pick you up from your hotel anywhere on Koh Lanta Yai and drop you back afterwards. Give us your hotel by name when you book — the island is long and beach names cover a lot of ground.
What should I bring?
Reef-safe sunscreen, a hat, a towel, a rash vest if you burn easily, a dry bag for your phone, and cash in baht for any national park fee. The fishing and snorkel gear is already on the boat.
What happens if the weather is bad?
If the sea is not safe we cancel, and you get a full refund or a free move to another day. We would rather lose the booking than take you out in a swell.
